Down-to Earth, Collaborative Counselling with Otto Lim

Most of us seek counselling when we are struggling with ourselves or others and finding it difficult to find a solution or change.

There are usually four things we can do when faced with problems or issues:

  1. Solve the problem.
  2. Feel better about the problem.
  3. Tolerate the problem.
  4. Stay miserable and/or make things worse.

I'm hoping you pick the first two options so we can start the work together to find change and/or solutions. I work with individual clients, couples, and families who seek recovery or relief from trauma, depression, anxiety, substance or behavioural addictions, life transitions, conflict/anger, loss, or relationship distress.

My mission is to provide compassionate counselling, using a down-to-earth, collaborative, and empathic approach with a bit of Buddhist introspection about how we struggle and suffer. I offer sessions both online and out of my office in Vancouver.

I focus on your goals for change through:

• Awareness and Motivation Enhancement
• Skill Development and Problem-Solving
• Resiliency and Self-Worth Support

It can be challenging to find a counsellor, especially when you're experiencing anxiety, crisis, or overwhelm, so I hope we can have a phone conversation to see if I'm a good fit for what you're looking for.  I encourage you to ask questions and start looking after your mental and emotional health.

I would like to acknowledge that we are gathered on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
